Story of a Stormy Night  (265 words)

It was a very stormy night and last day of the month. My parents were invited to my uncle’s house. My sister and I could not used to it. We had the examination the next day. So we stayed at home. It had started pouring suddenly from 8p.m. and strong winds were blowing .So our parents decided to stay at my uncle’s home. The light had gone off and we went to sleep at 10 p.m. After having our dinner. The lightning was flashing in through the window. It was midnight when we heard a strange sound that awakened us.

We were not sure about the sound whether it was thunder or somebody was knocking at the door from outside. As we were alone, we both frightened greatly. We started to think that there might be some thieves or robbers, plotting to rob our house. My sister encouraged me not to get frightened and suggested, we must see what was out there. At first, we had not the courage to go and see who was out there. After some time when the sound stopped ,we somehow gathered courage and tried to see through the window what was out there. What we saw, we even could not believe our eyes. A street dog had taken shelter near the wall of our house. We got relieved and went to bed. What a suspense! I would never forget the situation ever. Next morning we woke up from bed. After some time my parents arrived. Father accompanied me to the exam hall.
